About

So you want to be a point guard, huh?

And you’re here because you want to be good.  You want to be the best.  You’ve taken the effort to research point guard tips so that you can practice, work hard and improve your skills.  You want to learn the theory that players are paying coaches thousands, for free.

I started Point Guard Tips because, 3 years ago, when I was developing as a point guard, I was researching on-line on how I could become better.  It was a huge struggle for me to search the entire internet for good tips catered to point guards.  Now as a starting point guard, after only 2 years of self-training, I’ve decided to help other aspiring point guards to get to that level they wish to be.

So how can you make the most out of this web site?

By studying everything on it.  Ask questions when you don’t understand.  Once you’ve studied it, take time out of your day to practice these tips.  They are critical to building your muscle memory for when you’re actually playing the game.

Secondly, while I try to write as much as I can, it is also beneficial to go read more tips.  On this site, you’ll find many links to other basketball tips.  Study those tips that are offered in order to maximize your learning and become the best player.

The more you study, the more prepared you’ll be when you’re in the game and you’re playing as the point guard.  Knowing who to pass to and when to pass will come more naturally.  Knowing when to shoot, and when to play hard defense is all simple knowledge.  All the greatest did nothing but study.  And this is how it all starts, to become the best.

Are you ready?  Good.  Let’s begin.
